Feeling stuck? Unfulfilled? Alone? Unsure of what your next step should be? Struggling to make sense of past experiences? Are you struggling with issues related to depression, trauma, grief, addiction, anxiety, or major life changes?
Are you a parent who is concerned about your adolescent or teen? Tired of the arguments? Frustrated by watching your teenager struggle with no idea of how to help them? Worried about what's "really" going on in their lives? Considering whether or not you adolescent could benefit from therapy?
If you live in Brooklyn, New York and either of those descriptions sounds like you then WELCOME to NY State of Mind Therapy! You’ve come to the right place.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist. I specialize in working with young/emerging adults (individuals in their 20’s and 30’s) AKA “millennials”- though I am not a fan of the term, as well as with adolescents/teenagers and their families.
I am experienced in treating issues of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, poor school/job performance, ADHD, communication barriers, challenging relationships, PTSD, trauma, bipolar disorder, and identity related issues such as gender, sexual orientation and race as well as issues effecting the LGBTQI community.
I help clients to identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change and then work with them to identify tools and skills for bringing about that change.
My passion is working with people as they travel through transitional phases in life with the goal of helping you to emerge stronger and more confident. I believe that my job as a therapist is to help you to tap into and capitalize on your existing strengths as well as to discover the internal strengths you never realized you possessed. Whether you are new to therapy or have past experience I will put you at ease by creating a space where you can feel comfortable, understood and heard. I view therapy as partnership between myself and my clients. and throughout our time working together I will strive to help you to find humor, brightness and hope as we work towards achieving your self defined goals.
